About Therein Lies
The man behind the music
Therein Lies got his start in New Mexico, where at the time he was studying Psychology and Communication. He struggled through his youth with a unique mental disorder known as Synesthesia, a rare disorder of the brain where you hear or see sounds. Lacking an outlet and with an increasing occurrence of synesthetics he fell into a cycle of depression and anger.
After an overdose and attempt at suicide he sought out obscure methods to express himself. After several other endeavors he came across an out of tune piano in the basement of his college. This is where he first began to create the music he had been hearing all his life. With no musical training, no equipment, and no way to record his work he turned to writing as a release. Left again with no outlet and the undeniable urge to bring life to his synesthetics. In the Winter of 2005 he spent the last of his student loan money and after months of waiting was able to invest in the equipment he needed to start creating music. He began working with synthesizers and classical instruments. In the Spring of 2006 he finished his first musical endeavor titled Entity. Soon after Entity's completion Therein Lies was signed with Actual Original Records.
With the debut of Therein Lies first CD Freedom he hopes to share the unique sounds, colors, emotions, and passion he discovered in music through his life and take you on an intense journey through the mental madness of synesthesia. Therein Lies has created to date over 120 original tracks and is in the process of completing a book of journal entries, poetry, and memoirs from the early years as an artist.
